Here is another minty-chew on dat.: courage

"Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the knowledge that there is something greater."

That is one of my favourite quotes.
I was ch alleged by this question today during a preach at my church, "is god asking you to do something" and i want to ask you the same thing.

is God asking you something?
is God asking you to do something? tell someone something? be something?

i thought well for some it may not seem like he is, like sometimes it feels to me, its WHISPER, ITS QUIET, its that person that you keep seeing, its those word you keep hearing ...but then a statement came into my mind:

just open up the word there you will see i am asking you to DO.

i was like DAR!

"no seriously look , read and see that it might not specific like, ""TALK TO THAT GIRL", get married to him, pray for them , phone Jim Bob and tell Felicia Friendly she's beautiful" but look in the BIBLE and understand with the wisdom that God generously gives to those who asks"

and i was like ooh OK . True.

On Friday i attended a 'NEW LIFE" - early Christians program thing with some girls whom have just recently joined the race with Jesus. Its a program, teaching them about discipleship and the basics. We got into the passage of

JOHN 14 AND 15

I felt like i was new after this reading. and today was reminded again of the words we read on Friday. "DON'T LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. TRUST IN GOD.....and pray for anything and you can have it when you are connected to me" and so on.

and so now you are probably still trying to put one and one together and asking "and so why did you start with that quote hey?" and i am going to answer you riiiight... now.

TO DO WHAT GOD IS ASKING OF YOU - whether it be specific - where he names names and points fingers or just what he's asked and promised in his word - YOU HAVE TO HAVE COURAGE.

now courage is not being with our fear, but its when you self - deny, forget embarrassment and realise that what you will do and are doing is contributing to A GREATER CAUSE or picture. which God has control over. its when you trust in him. you put one foot forward and he'll help you run.

i believe we have to be live in a "faith space" where we are challenged and almost forced to trust in him. when was the last time you stepped out of your square. with most of Gods words he reveals promises. he'll meet you half way. draw near to him and he'll draw near to you.

as surely as the sun will rise he'll come to us

and once we start trusting in him CRAZY things start happening- beyond the picture we can see.

so i ask you- WHAT IS ASKING YOU TO DO riiiiight ...now?

and remember that "Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the knowledge that there is something greater."
